Not every people can buy an HDB. There are so many criteria for being eligible buyer, one of them is you must be Singapore Citizen or Singapore PR. And for PR, must be 2 PR holder buy an HDB in scheme of joint ownership.
I obtained my PR status on March 2013, and now I already owned an HDB together with my husband. This is our very first house, and also the biggest investment we've made. Very proud and grateful we already own house here in Singapore. I know that when we decided to buy this unit, it was God that tell us to buy. It was God that give us some money to buy. Yes, this is God's blessing in our life. For us.
You know, in 4 months, after my submission dates to exercise this purchase, many things changed. Many new cooling measures that government set to control the property price, to control the sale of HDB, which is tightening our eligibility to buy. And in addition, an IDR rate becomes weaken these days.
If we were not buying an HDB now, for sure we cant buy in 3years. We have to wait. Why? Because there is a new regulation says PR holder need to wait for 3 years after their obtained PR to buy an HDB. I dont know if I wait for 3 years more, whether I still be eligible to buy or not. You know what I mean. Everything's change even in only 4 months. I cant even imagine about 3 years later. Now, loan quantum is very low. Government often changes the regulation for home loan quantum, because as we already knew, the loan for house is not in short amount. Its a big amount and also for long term loan.
Hmm thats why, I am very grateful for owning an HDB now. Thanks God for everything.
